Robin
There was nothing
I could ever do or say

Robin
I saw you
You haunt me
And it always takes
my breath away

Robin
Your spirit
Decending through
The mysteries of the mind

Robin
I'm keeping
This melody for you
I'm watching
As you fly

The robin voices on this track are from files contributed to the freesound project by reinsamba, a nature and ambient sound collector and biology teacher from Cologne, Germany. The birds were recorded in springtime 2006-7 in a forest north of Cologne, Germany. The Freesound Project = www.freesound.org

This song is for a 19-year old full blood native American woman named Robin I was introduced to once in Los Angeles. When I learned a few weeks later that Robin committed suicide, I was shocked and depressed. I never really knew her, but a quarter of a century later I still remember her when I see robins hunting in the morning mist.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention still puts the suicide rate for Native Americans between the ages 18-34 at twice the US national average.
