Old Scorpion hitch-hiking
At the water's edge
She asked the frog for a ride across
And here's what Froggy said
What do you take me for, great bug?
I'm no tadpole, fool!
I let you on my back, you sting me!
Kill me in the pool!
Old Scorpy laughed at his concern
She said: I can't sting you!
For if I did, while on your back
Why, then I would drown too!
Froggy he considered
What Old Scorpy said
Still he hesitated
Better safe than dead. (INSTRU)
You have my pledge of honor, sir
Old Scorpy reassured,
That you can travel safely
I hope you'll take my word.
And Froggy was won over
So chivalrous was he
Old Scorpy climbed up on his back
